John F. McGee - Artist

Like most artists, I knew from an early age that art would always be a part of my life. I cannot recall a period in my life when I was not doing some kind of art. After four years of high school art, I attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, then on to the University of Northern Iowa where I received both my BA and MA in art, with an emphasis painting and drawing.
Upon graduation I moved to the high mountains of Colorado to study with Frank Howell, who became my mentor for many years. It was during those eight years in Colorado that I honed the technical and artistic skills which I continue to improve on to this day.
After eight years in Colorado, I, along with my wife, Laurie, and son, Charlie, moved back to the Midwest to be around family, settling in Wisconsin. Throughout my life I have had a number of one-man shows, participated in group shows, and have artwork in many private and corporate collections.
Like I said, art will always be a part of my life. I hope you enjoy looking at what I feel very blessed to be able to do.
